Description of the walk

From the car park at the Landgasthof Zur Quelle, the Spessartspur leads past the Catholic church and, after crossing the road, up the Kirchberg. As you gain altitude, the view over Aufenau and into the Kinzig Valley becomes increasingly expansive and captivating. At the Dreiländereck, with its historic boundary stones, the route finally descends into the forest and, through the Kinzig Valley and the valuable Zelleraue wetland, back to the starting point.

After crossing the motorway, it’s worth taking a detour to the Sonnenberg Farm, where you can get fresh ‘ice cream to go’ at the Milchhütte.
