Car park: Socio-cultural Centre, “Espace Kerne” Sports Complex.
(S/E) From the car park, head towards the main road, walking past the primary school, and turn left into Rue Hent Kerfram opposite the doctor’s surgery. Turn right at the first Rue Hent Eric Tabarly, which passes the post office and runs alongside a housing estate. At the end, turn left.
Yellow markings, but in the opposite direction to the route
(1) Follow Rue Hent Kergoad and ignore the turn-offs to Kergwenn and then Tristin on the right. Continue towards the hamlet of Kergoad, where the road becomes a footpath (sign: “No motorised vehicles”). At the next crossroads, carry on straight ahead and enter a wooded area. Pass through a gate, continue on and cross a road at the hamlet of Ti Pin.
No signposting
(2) Continue along the path through the woods, keeping to the path on the right at the gate. Please note that the route shown on the map is no longer accurate: the left-hand fork is approximately 100m after the road at Ti Pin. Continue through the woods, following a wire fence on the right, and, on emerging from the woodland, join a road which you follow to the left. Pass the hamlet of Kerran on your right and join the D20 (view of the Saint-Roch Chapel: private access).
(3) Cross the road (take care) and follow the path to the right that runs alongside it. This path veers away from the road then turns right to reach a disused stretch of road serving as a car park (information board on the banks of the Odet).
GR®38Amarkings: White and Red
(4) From the car park, head left onto the path along the Anse de Combrit, which is bordered by woodland. Follow the edge of the cove, where you can spot many birds commonly found on mudflats. Ignore all the paths branching off to the left and walk past a birdwatching post. Shortly afterwards, the path turns left and climbs up to the Lestremeur site (bread oven, fountain and wash house, pond). This is the ideal spot for a break, with picnic tables available in a peaceful setting.
(5) Go round the dovecote to reach a road which you take to the right, leaving the manor house – formerly owned by the Marquise de Sévigné – on your left. At the three-way junction, turn left and continue straight on along the road lined with majestic beech trees. Ignore the roads on the right (signposted ‘Odet’) and then the one leading to Kerascoët.
Mountain bike signposting is rather inconspicuous
(6) Take the path on the right leading to Stang Kerlec, leaving theGR®, and continue along a track that winds through the meadows.
(7) Turn left (mountain bike signpost 17–18) and follow the path which skirts the grounds of the Keraotred equestrian centre. The path leads out onto the road heading towards the centre.
(8) Turn left towards the banks of the Odet. Pass the entrance to the Manoir de Kerouzien. The road takes a wide bend to the left. At a car park, do not hesitate to head down to the right, to the river’s edge, for a lovely view, then return to the road.
(9) Take the steps on the right, followed by a footbridge, and turn left to reach a majestic fountain. Join and follow the road as it climbs back towards the D20, leaving the turn-off for Keraodren (not signposted) on your right.
Yellow markings
(10) At the junction with the departmental road, pass two pillars and follow the path on the right that runs alongside it. Ignore an entrance marked by two pillars and a sign reading ‘La Brouette de Kérivoal’.
At the sign for “Poterie d’art”, continue straight on until you reach the hamlet of Al Leuré.
(11) Cross the D20 at the pedestrian crossing (take care) and continue to the right towards Plomelin. Go round a transformer on the right and follow the footpath running along the edge of the field. Pass the hamlet of Kerfram, walking alongside the sports grounds on your right. When you can see the Lucie Aubrac School, turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
