Description of the walk

Park in the village of Pompierre.

(S/E) Follow the D214 towards Villemolle.

(1) Take the first path on the left, which runs alongside fields on either side.

(2) When the track bends to the left, turn right to enter a woodland. Follow the main track (PR®® Yellow trail).

(3) At the junction, leave thePR®® path, which turns left towards Le Puits, and carry on straight ahead on theGR®®3.

(4) At the next junction, take the path on the right and let theGR®®3head off to the left. Continue in the same direction until you reach a road.

(5) When you reach the D161 county road, cross it and take the path opposite.
Carry on straight ahead, ignoring all the paths on the left which lead into the woods (Bois Guérin). On leaving the woods, the path runs alongside a field.

(6) When you reach a hard-packed track, turn right. Join the D305 and follow it to the right until you reach the houses.

(7) Before the bend, turn right towards the Boinarderie housing estate.

(8) Cross the junction with the D161 and continue straight ahead. The path enters the forest, running alongside a power line on your right. Continue in the same direction until you reach a crossroads.

(9) Carry on straight ahead, still following the power line, until you reach a road.

(10) Cross the D214 and take the path opposite.

(11) At the junction, turn right and head towards the power lines.

Same comment as above regarding car parking for walking groups. Following a reconnaissance visit on Wednesday 28 January 2026 and meetings with local residents, mainly farmers, it is not recommended to park along the D 214 road through the village, and even less so on any of the tracks used by various agricultural vehicles. However, one of the farmers, who has a storage platform on the edge of the route at stage 1, has very kindly allowed us to use it for 5 to 6 cars. This will allow us to warm up at the start and stretch on our return.
Another parking option, with a slight modification to the route, is inside Verrie, on Rue de l'Église, in the municipal school car park, subject to prior agreement from the town hall.
The route was discovered in winter, so it is quite muddy but still passable, and will be revisited when the weather improves.
