Above the valleys at Couchey

Starting from the Couchey orientation table, a route above the Vaulon, Pévenelle and Semetrot valleys. Particularly recommended in summer when it is hot. This route is in the middle of the forest with views over the entire Dijon plain and Mont Blanc, weather permitting.

Description of the walk

Park at the Couchey orientation table car park.

(S/E) Take the path that branches off to the left of the white road and follows the Combe de Vaulon to its end.

(1) Take the path on the right that joins the white path you left at the car park. Continue left until you reach a wooden barrier.

(2) Turn right into the woods and join the crossroads with a path coming from the right.

(3) Head left and continue along this path, which curves to the right before reaching another junction.

(4) Turn left and continue to the top of Combe Pévenelle.

(5) Ignore the path that descends into it and follow the one that runs alongside it, then veer left to reach a crossroads in the Bois des Francs.

(6) Turn left and you will soon reach a junction with a straight cross-path.

(7) Turn left and follow it to a white path.

(8) Cross it and take the path opposite leading to the top of Combe Semetrot.

(9) Head left to follow it along the top and rejoin the white path you crossed earlier: signpost and picnic table.

(10) Make a short first turn right then left to take a south-east facing path that passes under a power line before leading to another white path. Continue on the left to find the wooden barrier.

(2) Go straight ahead, then turn right to retrace your steps in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).

A very beautiful walk on open terrain
Not many people on this particular route, but we met quite a few at the crossroads
Beautiful view and very easy
Must be tough when it's hot
Follow the trail carefully as there are quite a few tricky junctions

A parish-specific to Brittany, parish-specific to Brittany, route that can be adapted in terms of distance and difficulty, and the scenery is magnificent.
With views of Mont Blanc for the first 100 metres, then the undergrowth, the car park is very good.
