Annan to Brydekirk, Dumfries and Galloway

Car park: Everholm Car Park, 22 Battery St, Annan DG12, free.

(S/E) From the car park, turn right along the river. Continue straight ahead along the river.

(1) Pass under the A75 bridge and continue straight on.

(2) Go around the small building to return to the riverside path.

(3) The path enters a small wood. Continue straight along the river.

(4) Continue along the path, which becomes a tarmac road. Go straight on until you reach the main road to Brydekirk village.

(5) Once on Bridge Street, turn left to cross the bridge over the River Annan.

(6) Once over the bridge, turn left onto River Street, then continue on Manse Cres.

(7) Turn left onto Annandale Way, which runs alongside the river. Continue straight with the river on your left.

(8) Continue straight following the river.

(9) Pass under the A75 bridge and continue straight ahead.

(10) At the B721 bridge, take the steps up to bridge level. Once on the B721, turn left onto the bridge. On the other side of the river, pass the Blue Bell Inn pub and turn left onto Battery Street to go down to the street and find the car park (S/E).

No water points.
The path can be quite muddy in places and also frozen in winter.

Beautiful dam on the river.
