Departure from the car park near the church in Aiguebelette.
(S/E) From Aiguebelette, take the road that climbs opposite the church towards the hamlet of Côte de l'Épine. At thefirst fork, take the left road. Before the end of this road, in a right-hand bend, continue straight ahead on the path marked by a yellow arrow on a green background.
At the hamlet of Noyau, continue along the road, then at the crossroads, take the path opposite marked by a yellow arrow. At the sign for "Le Châtelain", go up the road on the right to the Allemands car park.
(1) From the car park, head north on the wide path and follow the signs for Col du Crucifix via the Voie Sarde, continuing straight ahead at the fork that follows.
(2) At Charroue, continue straight ahead towards the Belvédère du Rocher du Corbeau and the Col du Crucifix via the Voie Romaine.
(3) At Rocher du Corbeau, leave the Voie Romaine and make a return trip to the viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view of the lake. On the way back, take the Voie Romaine uphill towards Col du Crucifix.
(4) At the sign on the right, you will find the orientation table for the Belvédère des Voies de l'Épine. There is a beautiful view of the lake and the hills of the Savoyard foothills.
Continue along the Voie Romaine until you reach the intersection with the Voie Sarde.
(5) Turn left, heading north towards the Col du Crucifix.
(6) Turn right, heading south towards the Col Saint-Michel. After 100 m, leave the main track and take the path on the left that leads to the ridge line, marked with a yellow arrow on a green background and mountain bike trail no. 7.
Along the way, there are several viewpoints over the lake, Mont Grêle and the peaks of the Chartreuse Massif.
(7) At Col Saint-Michel, turn right towards the François1er and Aiguebelette caves.
(8) Continue straight ahead, heading north. Leave the Beauregard trail on your left, which descends directly to the car park.
At the FrançoisI caves, a sign tells us that in 1516, FrançoisI sought refuge in these caves to shelter from a violent storm while returning from a visit to the Holy Shroud, which was then in Chambéry.
(9) At La Cavalenche, turn left onto the Grande Dressière trail.
Please note: this path is very steep and has some dangerous sections.
Rejoin the path you took on the way there and turn left to reach the Parking des Allemands car park.
