When you arrive in Santenay, follow the signs for Église Saint-Jean. Park in the car park.
(S/E) With the church on your right, head south-west and take the path on the left. At the first crossroads, go straight ahead, do the same at the next three-way junction and you will come to a T-junction.
(1) Climb up to the Montagne des Trois Croix, turning right at the signpost (yellow markings). As you pass the Trois Croix, you will see the orientation table and then, 100 metres further on, a path that descends steeply to the right of it. Take this path and continue straight ahead until you reach the next crossroads.
(2) Turn right towards Santenay viathe GR® and begin the descent, then follow the signs for Santenay camping viathe PR® (yellow markings).
MODERATION LIMIT
Follow this path until you see a mill. Turn left and leave thePR® for a path between the vineyards. You will come to a tarmac road. Go straight ahead and do not follow thePR®, continue along the vineyards to the windmill.
At the mill, go straight ahead and descend onto the road.
You will rejoin thePR® at the third crossroads on your right. Walk along the vineyards until you reach the tarmac road. Turn left and follow this road until you reach a crossroads. Turn right and do not follow thePR®; you will rejoin it 400 metres further on by turning left. This road takes you past the Château de Santenay, where you can admire the glazed roofs. At the end of the château, take the road on the right that goes uphill, then turn right and 200 metres further on, turn left.
Turn right at the cross and take the path on the right (50 metres after turning right) to join theGR®. Follow the tarmac road uphill until you see a dead end sign. At the sign, turn left and you will be on theGR® trail. Follow this path uphill until you reach the plateau, then turn left and climb the very steep slope to the 3 Croix.
Descend via the same path you took to climb up and return to the car park.
