Description of the walk

Start: From the on-road parking on Park Lane, Kilwinning, North Ayrshire (KA13 7HP), Grid ref NS 298 440, What3Words: ///basin.hires.ambition

(S/E) Enter McGavin Park via the gates on Park Lane. Turn right and follow the circular tarmac path, keeping to the main path throughout.

(1) At the triangle, round to the left to keep following the main path. Finish back at the gates on Park Lane. (S/E)

Parking: There is a small amount of on road parking on Park Lane.

Transport: The closest train station is Kilwinning train station, approx 1.2kms from the start point. Bus stops are located on the adjacent A737 Dalry Road.

Facilities: There are toilets within McGavin park, however, opening times are unknown. Contact North Ayrshire Council for details. The main street of Kilwinning is located approx. 1km from the start point and has a variety of shops and cafes.

Terrain: This is an amenity park with well maintained tarmac paths and some amenity grassland. The paths are mainly flat with one gentle incline on the section adjacent to Dalry Road. There is ample seating throughout. There is a well equipped children's play area and large adult trim trail. Various events take place in the park throughout the year.

Dog policy: This is a good park for dog walkers.
