Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 97 m
  2. 1 : km 0 - alt. 97 m - Start at jubilee bridge below hardknott pass and follow the river edk up the valley, keeping the pass on your right - Start
  3. 2 : km 3.07 - alt. 190 m - At the top of the valley cross Lingcove bridge and follow the path up the steep incline, keeping the river on your left - Lingcove Bridge
  4. 3 : km 4.27 - alt. 339 m - Top of the incline levels out . Follow the river round onto the great moss. This should be your first view of scafell pike - Waterfall
  5. 4 : km 5.66 - alt. 368 m - The great moss is flat but will be wet as the water running of the surrounding mountains creates several small streams. Cross the river esk here and take the steep incline to the right of the cam spout waterfall. Do not take the shallower path up the ravine to the right of cam spout. This route is littered with fallen rocks which will slow you down. - Great moss and Cam spout
  6. 5 : km 6.43 - alt. 539 m - After climbing beside cam spout the ground should slope upwards towards the saddle of Mickledore- head towards this and aim to follow the scree up the right hand side of this saddle. - Facing Mickledore
  7. 6 : km 7.39 - alt. 811 m - Steep scree leading to a white chalk path. Large metal box at top of mickle dore, use this to orientate yourself, should turn right at this to head towards scafell pike - Mickledore
  8. 7 : km 8.11 - alt. 973 m - Follow path to the top of the mountain - Top of the mountain
  9. S/E : km 16.07 - alt. 96 m
