Description of the walk

Start: Great Wood National Trust car park, Keswick (CA12 5UP) Grid ref. NY 271 214

(S/E) At the end of the car park, take the little path (South) that goes towards Walla Crag. Continue straight on this path until it divides in two. Take left to go up Walla Crag using the stairs and passing by Lady's Rake (this section is a bit steep). Continue on this path with the river on your right hand side up to the summit and arriving into a field, take left to find Walla Crag summit.

(1) At Walla Crag, walk back towards Lady's Rake but at the intersection with several paths take left. Continue straight on this path across the fields until the summit of Bleaberry Fell.

(2) Once at the top of Bleaberry Fell, retrace your step to go down until seeing an intersection of paths.

(3) Take left towards Falcon Crag and Brown Knotts. (Be careful here you need to take the upper path to reach Ashness Bridge by the top). Continue straight going down along this path until reaching the road. Take left to see the famous Ashness Bridge.

(4) At Ashness Bridge, retrace your steps to take the second path on your right after the bridge. Then when the path splits in two, take left on the lower path. Continue straight on this path until reaching the car park (S/E)
