Start: Turn-around point in the quiet village of Weitersglashütte
Signposting: The route is not signposted on site. Please use the digital data.
(S/E) From there, hikers follow the road through the village back in the direction from which they came.
(1) At the edge of the forest, you’ll come to the Kammweg path, which you follow to the left.
The path initially runs along the edge of the forest before turning right into the woods. After a short distance, the signpost points left onto a narrow, root-strewn path. This runs downhill and alternates several times between wooded areas and the edge of the forest. Along the way, you will cross two small bridges until you come to a wide forest track. Here there is a lovely rest area with a log cabin and plenty of seating.
(2) The path then crosses a larger stream and heads uphill. This is followed by another root-covered path at the edge of the forest, still marked as the Kammweg. Hikers continue straight ahead on the path, pass the “Zur Talsperre” inn and, after a short stretch through the forest, reach the ski slope.
(3) After crossing the ski slope, leave the ridge path and take a wider forest path to the left. Shortly afterwards, turn left again until you reach a T-junction.
(4) Keep right there and then immediately turn left again until you reach the wall of the Carlsfeld Dam.
(5) The path leads over the wall. On the opposite side, keep to the right.
(6) Turn left at a shelter and follow the path straight ahead through the forest until you reach a road.
(7) Follow this road back to the left to the starting point in Weitersglashütte. (S/E)
