Start in Blanzac, on the D13 between Saint Paulien and Polignac. There are several small car parks near the church, the village hall and the playground.
(S/E) Start the walk by taking Rue Traversière to reach the D13 towards Polignac.
(1) Follow this road south-southeast for 1.7 km until you reach the small Communac stream.
(2) Take the small road on the left, signposted Cussac. 400m further on, leave this hamlet on your left and turn right.
Then continue straight ahead on the road that climbs towards the village of Rochelimagne.
At the first crossroads in the village, take the road on the left, then 100 metres further on, take the path on the left marked in yellow which descends towards the Communac stream.
(3) 100 metres after the bridge, leave the banks of the stream and take the path that climbs up to the left (marked in yellow). 100 metres upstream, continue on the larger track to the right (eastbound). After 200 metres, at the crossroads, turn right and follow the yellow markings.
At the next crossroads, 200 metres further on, turn left (north-east) and follow theGR®3marked in red and white. TheGR® reaches the village of Chanceaux after 1.2 kilometres.
Descend into the village.
(4) At the first crossroads in Chanceaux, continue along the road that climbs to the left and continues along a track for 1 km.
(5) At the crossroads, turn left towards Rachat (signposted). In this village, go straight ahead, following the red and whiteGR®3trail.
(6) At the village exit, take the first track on the right, still on theGR®3. After 500m, leave the track on the left and continue straight ahead.
(7) In the hamlet of Ceyssaguet, in front of the house, turn right onto the small path, still marked, which descends.
Be careful not to miss the small promontory on the right of the path with its cross, which offers the most beautiful view of the Château de Lavoûte-sur-Loire.
(8) 200 metres after the cross, leave theGR® trail that descends to the château and climb left towards La Roche farm (beware of unfriendly dogs). Follow the track straight ahead (north-west) for 1.1 km to the outskirts of the village of Les Baraques.
(9) At the Route des Baraques, turn left.
Leave the road after 500 metres and continue on the path to the right. Near the village of Vialette, turn right to the centre of the village. Look for a blacksmith's forge and a beautiful round fountain below on the right.
(10) At the fountain, turn left, then immediately right between the houses, following the yellow markings.
(11) On leaving Vialette, take the second track on the left marked in yellow.
After 400 metres, you will come to a road. Take it on the left and leave it after 200 metres.
(12) Turn left onto the path that descends towards Blanzac through the woods. After 700 metres, you will come to a road. Turn left onto it.
(13) At the crossroads near the Moulin de Blanzac, continue to the right to reach Blanzac and the starting point at the D13 crossroads.
(1) Follow the street to the right to return to the car park (S/E).
