Description of the walk

Parking at Parc Montcervier (signposted Espace Montcervier, mini-crèche) accessible via the D53, Rue Jean Mouly. Street names are only indicated in the description when signs are present at intersections.

(S/E) Return to Rue Jean Mouly via the car park access road and follow it to the right. Turn left onto Rue Douhaires, then right at the end of the street. At the intersection, turn left towards Centre Ville, then immediately right onto Rue de la Porte Robin. Ignore the street on the left, continue straight on Rue des Rampeaux, then turn left onto Passage des Rampeaux.

When you exit the passage, turn right, stop in front of a beautiful house and turn left. You will arrive at Place du Vieux Marché. Take a short walk up and down the street on the right to see the beautiful façades, return to the square, continue straight ahead past the fountain, and take Rue du Palais, passing under the archway. You will arrive at Place de l'Église, in front of the main entrance to Sainte-Chapelle. Visit.

(1) Leaving Sainte-Chapelle, turn left and walk around the building (look up). At the back of the church, turn right onto Rue de la Brèche. Follow the street as it curves to the right and, at the crossroads, continue straight ahead onto Rue Neuve. Take the next street on the left to reach a busier street, opposite the market halls (former jeu de paume court).

Cross the street, turn right and then head left to pass between the entrance to the market halls and a fountain. Continue straight ahead to enter a one-way street, then pass under a timber-framed arcade. Immediately after, ignore Rue de la Côte Sailhant on your right and turn left.

Ignore Passage de la Côte Sailhant on your right, then go down Passage des Lavandières on your right. After a few steps, continue along the path that turns right further down. Further on, you will come to a street and, shortly afterwards, take a path on the left that leads to a beautiful wash house.

(2) Turn right in front of it, then take the pedestrian path on the right that goes back up towards the village. At the top, at the T-junction, follow the street on the right, ignore the dead end on the right, turn onto the next street on the left and arrive behind the Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Visit.

Leaving the building, cross Place Saint-Jean, continue straight ahead, follow the street opposite and then turn right. Cross a busier street, continue straight ahead and then turn left onto Rue Neuve. At the T-junction, turn right and then follow Rue de la Sainte-Chapelle on the right. Take the first street on the left, then left again at the T-junction.

Ignore Rue Saint-Pierre and Rue de la Thioule, on your right and left respectively. When you reach a small square, take Rue de Coulogne opposite and to your left. Ignore the street on your left, then you will reach an intersection with a beautiful half-timbered house with a turret.

(3) Turn left at the corner of this house, arrive at a busier street and follow it to the right. Arrive at Place de la Liberté, follow Boulevard André Boste to the left, then stay left at the next intersection to follow Rue Jan Mouly. You will soon find the access road to the Parc Montcervier car park (S/E).
