Description of the walk

Park at the Golgan chapel, Chapelle Saint-Golgon.
No dedicated signage for this hike, but the Visorando app is useful

(S/E) Head towards the crossroads, with a beautiful cross in the centre, and take the path between a row of trees and a house, which passes to the right of the chapel. Then follow the fairly old yellow markings, which are not always clearly visible. Continue on to the hamlet of Keravel. Follow the road to the left. Just before a car park (with an information panel about the Traouïero valley), you will come to an intersection with a carriageway on the right.

(1) Take this road. Further on, at the intersection with another road, turn left. You will reach a road at a beautiful cross (the village of Le Bourg and a pretty church tower in the distance on your right) and continue on the road opposite, Garhent an Iliz. You will arrive near a water tower.

(2) Pass to the right of the water tower, take a few steps to the left and follow the small road. Continue along the path which, shortly afterwards, turns right and arrives at a curious calvary. Continue straight ahead and join a road. Follow it carefully to the left, pass the Trégastel exit sign, and continue to the intersection with the D11, with a menhir on the left just before the intersection.

(3) Follow it carefully to the left (direction Lannion indicated on an old sign) for about 50 metres, then, at the directional signs, take the path on the left. Immediately afterwards, continue along the path. It first turns right then left; ignore the path that continues straight ahead. Shortly afterwards, you will come to a crossroads before crossing a stream, one of the Traouïero.

(4) Make a return trip to the left to discover a portion of the valley that is not included in the circular route.

(4) On the way back, continue along the path on the left until you reach a road. Cross over and continue along the road opposite, which quickly becomes a track, and you will reach the hamlet of Pont Névez.

(5) Follow the road to the left. At the intersection, turn left onto the road and then quickly take the path that branches off to the right. You will reach the hamlet of Kergomar. At the first buildings, turn left, cross the road and follow the path opposite (signposted Vallée des Traouïero). Descend quickly to a path intersection.

(6) Make a round trip to the left, at the bottom of the valley, to the point reached at the end of the round trip from (4).

(6) Back at the intersection, continue along the valley floor to the left. Further on, ignore a path leading off to the left. Shortly afterwards, the path turns right and climbs back up to join a road.

(7) Follow it to the left. On leaving Randreuz, take the small road on the left which leads directly to the D788 at the start of the bridge.

(8) Make a round trip to a tide mill by following the path opposite (GR®®34, signposted on the mountain bike trails).

(8) On the way back, follow the red and white markings ofthe GR®®34. Cross the bridge and pass another tide mill on the Grand Traouïero. Turn onto the first road on the right. After a left-hand bend, it joins an intersection. Continue on the carriage road on the right, which is slightly hairpin-shaped. You will soon reach Tourony Beach and follow it on the left.

(9) At the end of the beach, continue on the GR®®/coastalpath along Baie Sainte-Anne. Go around the point, then the cove, and arrive at the hamlet of Poul Palud, where there is a small beach and a car park.

(10) Here, you can choose to make a round trip, at your convenience, still following theGR®®34, to continue around Baie Sainte-Anne. The coastal path joins the Quai de Sainte-Anne, bordering a beautiful beach, which you can follow instead of taking the road. Then, if the tide allows, continue between the huge rocks to the point.

(10) Back in Poul Palud, leave theGR®®34, go up the access road to the car park, cross the D788 carefully and follow Rue des Écoles opposite. Go straight ahead at the next intersection, Rue des Cormorans. Go to the end of the street, follow the short path on the left, which joins a street (Rue des Mouettes) and yellow markings.

(11) Follow the street to the left and continue along a path. You will come to a road at a car park; continue straight ahead along Route de Golgon. At the fork (fountain), keep to the right and you will soon come to the Saint-Golgon Chapel (S/E).

Some uninteresting sections of road between the Calvary and (3), then between (7) and (8), and a little at the end of the route.

Worth a visit

Hello, very nice hike (preferably with GPS, see details)
A few comments (you can ignore these points) but you can make a variation

a) Start: I left from the port towards Saint Anne and did the hike in the opposite direction (please note that my comments are based on this direction!).
It was low tide and I was able to go as far as Palud along the beach (the tide must be low).
b) The valley
In my direction at point 7, I almost missed the sign. Following the route is sometimes not easy. At one point, the trail led me to walk in the water! There are few signs and sometimes the route does not follow them, but to get to point 6, the paths on the right or left bank will take you there. It is very beautiful and cool, slightly developed. When you arrive at the Tregastel cemetery, a path leads down to the valley (but it is not part of this route). There is a barrier with a municipal notice saying ALL ROUTES ARE CLOSED until the end of 2023 (storm damage, fallen trees). As far as I could see, there was only one fallen tree trunk.
This valley may seem daunting for non-hikers (few markings, lots of paths), but I don't think it's possible to get lost.
c) points 4 to 6 in AR
Not done
d) End of the hike
In my direction, at the Calvary (where I climb to the top) towards the cemetery, I decide to go towards the church, then take the road (a bit tedious) and then head towards Golven and the GR to take the pretty path and return to St Anne.

16.83km, 112m elevation gain, and I recommend it.

Nice walk but no signposting, a bit disappointed as I couldn't do the whole route.
