(S/E) From the car park, start by crossing the main road; you should find yourself opposite the Ardèche fire station. Continue along the pavement to the Protestant church in Beauchastel.
(1) Take the road that climbs, Route du Serre, and follow it for the entire ascent of the walk. This is theGR®42, with little traffic, but it is advisable to stay to the side of the road. Pass Le Serre and arrive at a junction marked by a hiking trail signpost.
(2) Turn left, down the slope, onto an unpaved track, closed to cars and motorbikes (clearly indicated at the entrance by an unconventional sign). A little further down, you’ll come to a junction leading to the ruins of Beauchastel.
(3) Take a path on the left which will lead you to the (ruined) tower of Beauchastel, as well as to an orientation table. Continue your descent into the village. You can, more or less, take any path; it will lead you to the square, simply named La Place, where the rest of the walk begins.
(4) From this square, take the Grand Rue on the left and continue to the junction with traffic lights and the car park where you started (S/E).
