Access the Prés de Côme car park via the D559 from the Vulcania roundabout.
Please note: in 2026, the maps are not up to date, so the Visorando app is recommended, especially as some sections are not marked.
(S/E) Leave the car park and cross the D559 to take the path opposite. Follow the blue markings until otherwise indicated.
(1) At the intersection of paths, turn left. At the fork in the path 200 m further on, turn right.
(2) At the intersection of paths, marked Chabanne Vieille, continue straight ahead (towards Col de Cessat) on the GR®89 and 441 (red and white markings). About 200 m further on, you will come to the Pied du Puy de Côme marker, turn right, still on the GR®.
(3) Further on, at a bend in the GR® trail to the left, ignore a path that goes straight ahead and leave the blue markings that accompany this path (the maps are not up to date at this point, as the GR® route has been changed).
(4) At the fork in the path, leave the GR® markings and turn right. Keep to the right at the intersection just after. You will arrive at the Bacs de Ceyssat, a very pretty fountain supplying drinking troughs, known locally as bacs.
(5) Set off again along the path heading due north.
(6) At the fork in the path, go to the right. At the next intersection, find the blue markings, which you will now follow until you reach your destination, and turn left. At the next intersection, continue straight ahead on the path.
(7) Be careful not to miss the path that branches off to the right.
(8) Ignore a path on the left that joins the road and continue straight ahead. You will reach the intersection of the circular route.
(1) Continue straight ahead, following the route you took on the way there to return to the car park (S/E).
