Description of the walk

Park in the car park situated not far from the cemetery.

(S/E) Leave the car park, turn left immediately, then left again a few dozen metres further on to take the path leading downhill.
When you reach the Chalard buildings, take the path on the left running parallel to the D151E on your right.

(1) Join the road and follow it to the left. Keep left at the next two junctions and continue to the four-way crossroads.

(2) Turn left towards the Romanesque church and 14th-century tower. Stay on the small tarmac road, which further on takes a hairpin bend to the left, and you’ll reach a small car park.

(3) Turn right to follow the gentle climb up to the staircase leading to the tower. Then follow the path along this narrow ridge until you rejoin the road. Turn right and return to the car park where you started (S/E).
Once back at the car park where you started, you can walk to the end of the road to visit the church.

A brilliant walk, with magnificent views.
It’s a nice descent at the start and a short climb at the end.
We didn’t meet anyone on the walk, apart from a few cars, as the climb up to Yssandon is along the road.
Well worth exploring on a summer’s evening with a beautiful sunset.
