Description of the walk

Start: From the village of Labatie-d'Andaure, head towards the lake, cross the bridge over the Doux and follow the "Ferme le Bosc" signs until the end. Park in the Bosc hamlet parking lot.

(S/E) Head towards the buildings, pass in front of the Echope du Bosc and keep going through the hamlet. At the first junction, take the path up to the left into the forest.

(1) At a path junction (not shown on the IGN map), take the first path on the right, which follows a contour and then descends to a new junction.

(2) Turn left, then left again at the next junction 100m further down. Walk past the house of Riailles and continue straight ahead on the path, which eventually leads to a small road.

(3) Turn left and follow this road for about 400 m to reach a hairpin bend.

(4) The path continues to the right, following the yellow and white waymarker. It then crosses the creek of Bel-Air (Ruisseau de Bel-Air) and follows it to the right alongside it.

(5) Cross the hamlet of Chirol, then Rabarin, and come out onto a small road at a zigzag path.

(6) Take this road on the right, with the first view of the castle of Bel-Air (Château de Bel-Air) on the right. Cross the hamlet of Rebailli and continue along the road which offers several other views of the castle.

(7) As you reach the hamlet of Cluzels, leave the road and take "Chemin de l'Hors" on the right.

(8) Turn right at the next junction, still following the yellow and white waymarker. Cross the bridge over the creek of Bel-Air (Ruisseau de Bel-Air) opposite the hamlet of Sauze and walk up to reach a road.

(9) Turn left and continue for around 400 m.

(10) Leave the road and the yellow and white waymarker to take the path which climbs to the right. Turn right at the next junction, then left at the next one: these two junctions are not shown on the IGN map.

(11) Take the left-hand path that passes through the rock and turn right to join the same route taken at the start of walk.

(2) Follow the path through the forest to the hamlet of the Bosc and reach the parking lot (S/E).

Nice hike, varied views, great picnic by the water, quite a bit of tarmac at the start but not busy roads, I rate this hike as average because it climbs at the start and then some on the way back but nothing insurmountable 😉
