Car park in front of the church of Saint-André-le-Gaz, 21 Rue Lavoisier, near the stadium and the MFR. The start is located in the car park, on the side of the war memorial.
(S/E) From the car park, with your back to the church door, take Rue Michelet on your left. After 50 m at the crossroads, go straight on Rue de la République. After 80 m, in a left-hand bend, take Rue Lamartine on your right: be careful, the street is narrow and there is traffic. When you reach the cross. After 300 metres, turn right onto Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau and follow it as it curves to the left.
(1) Take the first small street on the right, Rue Berthelot: there is little traffic on this street and you will see the first aviaries. Follow the road to the next double crossroads.
(2) Keep slightly to the left and 30 metres further on, at the stone cross, take the path (Rue de Vigny) that climbs up to the farm in front of you.
The path passes between the farm and the meadow where there is a pond with a beautiful farmyard in the summer.
Please note: the path runs along the edge of the farm and on your left are cages used for breeding pheasants. Access is prohibited. Stay on the path and continue straight ahead to reach the Étang de la Refeuille pond.
(3) Walk along the pond and go up the tarmac road towards the fir trees. When you reach the corner of the house, follow the road at a 90° angle to your right until you reach the next crossroads.
(4) The hike continues on the right along a road that climbs, winds and descends towards the D145.
(5) The Étang du Tapon is on your left. Be careful of traffic as you take the D145 road on your right. After 200 metres, take the path on your right and you will find yourself back among the aviaries. The path winds its way to the next crossroads, which you passed at the start of the walk.
(2) Take the road on the far left, keep left on Rue Péguy, with aviaries on your right and houses on your left. Follow the road, passing a first path, then the cemetery path on your right. Continue to the next crossroads where there is a stone cross on your left. Cross the D145 to take the path opposite.
(6) Turn right at a 90° angle, then take a moment to admire the mountains opposite. In good weather, there are beautiful views of Belledonne, Chartreuse and Vercors. Continue on your way, turning right at the next intersection to arrive on a tarmac road after a 90° bend on your left.
When you reach the road, turn right in front of the MFR to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
. We saw lots of little pheasants at that time of year.
