Description of the walk

Access from Oslo: bus 51 towards Maridalen (Brekkekrysset stop) or by car (car park near the bus stop).

(S/E) Join the path on the west side of the road. This path is a ski trail that is lit in winter. Follow the red markings to Hammeren.

(1) At the junction at Låkeberget (car park on the right), turn left.

(2) Turn right to join the road at Hammeren.

(3) Turn left and cross the bridge over the Skjærsjøelva.

(4) Turn right onto Maridalsveien. Follow the road. Please note that there is no pavement and the verges are very narrow.

(5) On the way, you will see the ruins of Margaretaskirke.

(6) At Maridalen Church, turn right onto Greveveien and keep right at every intersection.

(7) At number 51, turn right towards Sander Gård (Sander Farm). This is a private road, but it is open to hikers and cyclists.

(8) Turn left and then right to go around the farm.

(9) At the first intersection after crossing the railway line, turn right.

(10) In a right-hand bend, ignore the first path on the left, then the second.

(11) At the next intersection, continue straight ahead.

(12) The pedestrian/cycle path ends at the car park. Continue straight ahead on Midtoddveien until you reach Kjelsås (tram) (S/E).
Return to Oslo: tram 11 or 12 (start of the line).
