Description of the walk

(S/E) From the car park, take the path alongside the canal which is heading northeast and is called Kennet and Avon Cana Trail. Alternatively, you can park at the Theale train station about half a mile away from the official departure point (S/E)

(1) Pass Sheffield Bottom lock and then, Garston Lock.

(2) Walk through a short wooded area, pass under the M4 bridge and continue on this path until you reach the next junction.

(3) Cross the bridge over the canal on your left. Once over the bridge, turn right to enter a field and continue the walk alongside the canal.

(4) At the end of the field, cross the turnstile and continue walking passed Burghfield Lock.

(5) Cross the bridge with ramps on your right.

(6) Continue along the canal path and you will see a pub on your right, just before Burghfield Bridge.

(7) Once there, enjoy a break if you like. Follow the same route back to the car park.
