The Bell is now rebuilt, reopened, and named The Boxford, serving amazing pasta and pizza. There is some parking on the road nearby if you’re not dining. The first km is entirely along the road with no pavement, but the road was fairly quiet on a Saturday lunchtime. The farm track at point 2 is a long straight unpaved road, with little of interest apart from bird and butterfly spotting. After point 4 we thought we’d go slightly off route to follow the river. This was a nice diversion but in fact led to a busy road, so we went back to the actual route which follows the edge of fields growing vines. The route finishes back along the road you started on, through the pretty village of Boxford.
