Description of the walk

(S) Starting at Northcroft Park (parking either at Northcroft leisure centre or Northcroft Lane West car park) follow the path south to Monkey Bridge.

(1) Cross Monkey Bridge and turn right.

(2) Follow canal and cross Enborn Bridge. Continue along canal passing under A34 and railway.

(3) At Benham Bridge, cross bridge over the canal and head south.

(4) When you meet the road turn right. Follow the road until you reach the entrance to Craven Hill Estate and footpath on your left opposite a church. Dogs must be kept on a lead - roaming livestock

(5) Turn right on the footpath and follow the footpath signs heading west/southwest until you reach the road into Hamstead Marshall.

(6) Head right along the road into the village, turn left opposite the White Hart Inn toward Dogs Trust. Continue past Dogs Trust through the gate into the open field.

(7) Head left (southwest) to enter the wooded area via the gate.

(E) Beautiful deciduous woodland that leads to evergreen woodland, beautiful bluebells in spring.
