Description of the walk

Starting point: Lestrevet beach car park in Plomodiern.
(S/E) With your back to the sea, climb up the small road opposite (markedPR® in yellow). Ignore the road on the left towards Breignou.

(1) Shortly afterwards, turn right onto a small path that crosses a wooded area and rejoins the road further on. Continue along this road, pass a crossroads and continue to the next intersection.

(2) Leave the road on the left. The path crosses a stream.

(3) At the next intersection, it turns right towards Lézouzier.
Continue along this path uphill, leaving Lézouyer on your right, then go around Moulin l'Abbé (an old mill) on your left to reach the D63.

(4) Turn right and follow this road. Pass the Lésivi farm and take the first road on the left. After about 100 metres, turn back to see the Saint-Suliau Chapel (late 12th century) on the left.

(5) When you return to the road, head straight on towards Penfrout.
Turn left to follow anotherPR® trail. A little further up, turn left again, skirting a wood, to rejoin the road you left earlier. Turn right and continue north on this road. After the last houses in Ménez Yan, the road becomes a path that climbs steadily through the woods.

(6) When you reach a path coming from the right, turn left to reach the D108. Follow this road uphill on the right (ignore the sign for the dolmen).

(7) When you reach a path coming from the right, turn left to reach the Ménez Lie dolmen.
Continue along the edge of the field. Begin the descent, facing Douarnenez Bay.
Follow the PR®.

(8) On the left, just after the path that branches off to the left, is a memorial garden in memory of cellist C. Philipp, who organised concerts at the Chapelle Saint-Côme.
Continue downhill, crossing the D108. On the right is a picnic area. Continue down the road (which is a no-entry road) and then cross the D63. You will see the Chapelle Saint-Côme.

(9) Head towards the chapel and its fountain located 200 metres further down on the left, near a meadow (entrance near a livestock building). The fountain is easy to spot as it is surrounded by hydrangeas.
Continue downhill to the beach car park.

(10) Turn left to return to the car park where you started, either via the beach (at low tide) or via the dune.
You can also follow the side of the road to reach the car park (S/E).

A very beautiful hike, with no difficulties whatsoever. Superb landscapes of Douarnenez Bay and the surroundings of Menez Hom. The hike ends on a high note with a visit to St Côme Chapel and a walk along the foreshore.
A must-do if you're in the area.

Thank you for your opinion.
Of course, it is always possible to make a round trip from the beach to the dolmen.
In that case, there's no need to look for a hike.
I opted for a circular route that includes other points of interest, as mentioned in other reviews.
Kind regards.

80% of roads
One of which your children are unlikely to survive... (around point 5)
The first 50% are of no interest. It gets better from the dolmen onwards, even if the path through the fields isn't particularly pleasant to walk along.
I suggest you start from the beach, walk back up to the dolmen and then back down again.

This hike involves a lot of walking, which was difficult to convince the children to do. Fortunately, there are points of interest scattered along the route, such as the Saint Suliau chapel (in front of which we had a picnic), culminating in this dolmen, which certainly lives up to its name. A real one, and a beautiful one at that!
The descent to Pentrez is magnificent.
I was surprised by the diversity of the landscapes. I took lots and lots of photos, but they don't really do justice to all the colours.
Thank you for this suggestion, which ends on the beach. Perfect for children!

Beautiful circular route. The descent from the dolmen to Pentrez offers a beautiful view. Some muddy sections at this time of year.
