(S/E) From the car park, head to the educational farm, take the path on the left that runs alongside the farm and walk on the arkose outcrops (view of the Sancy and the Chaîne des Puys). Continue until you reach the start of the descent, then continue to a T-junction and turn right onto a path that then veers to the left (north).
(1) At the T-junction, turn right and continue until you reach a wide path. Turn left and continue straight ahead to reach a road opposite the Château de Chadieu.
(2) Cross the road (access to the private château), continue opposite and take the first path on the right. Walk through the woods along the Allier river.
(3) Pass in front of the Roche de Gournier, then in front of the water treatment plant, and continue straight ahead until you reach the first houses in Coudes. You will come to a path going up to the right.
(4) Take the path on the right between hedges and fences, continue left along gardens and houses until you reach a junction with a street, then turn right.
(5) Turn right onto Chemin du Cuel, pass the vineyards on your left, and at the top, turn right onto Chemin du Moulin à Huile towards the village of Montpeyroux.
(6) Turn left onto Rue du Chaume and after 40 metres, take the stairs on the right. At the top, turn left onto Rue de la Poterie, and after 100 metres, take the fourth stairs on the right. Then turn right onto Rue du Donjon. Go around the Donjon on the right and join Rue de la Grand Charreyre.
(7) Continue straight on Rue de la Quye, Rue des Granges, Rue de l'Hume.
(8) At the roundabout, take the path on the right that passes in front of the Tourist Office and leads to the car park (S/E).
