Park behind the post office, where there are grassy parks, benches, tables, a fountain and toilets.
(S/E) Head towards the village until you reach the fountain with a statue. Take the D273 road downhill towards Saint-Félicien. After a few metres, turn right onto a grassy path, ignoring the one going downhill to the left. Here you will find aPR® trail marked in yellow and white.
Follow this flat path. When you reach a tarmac section, continue straight ahead, ignoring the road going uphill. Follow this tarmac road for about 100 metres, then take the grassy path opposite. You will reach a crossroads.
(1) Ignore the section leading off to the right and continue straight ahead along the road for 1.5 km, ignoring the turn-offs to the left towards Mahussier and then an uphill road to the right. You will reach a junction with a road leading downhill to the left towards Les Gays.
(2) Follow the road on the right and at the next crossroads, do not turn right towards Bouvet but take the path on the left. Walk alongside a campsite on the right. Approach the stream and then cross it as you climb.
(3) Cross a large path. Continue uphill until you reach the Col du Buisson roads.
(4) Ignore all roads and take the stony path heading north, which passes near the orientation tables. Reach the forest. After a left-hand bend, ignore the path on the right and follow the stony path on the left. After a few hundred metres, you will reach a crossroads with five paths.
(5) Continue along the stony path heading north. You will reach another crossroads with six paths. Take the stony path on the left heading north-west. You will reach the major crossroads at La Croix Des Chaumettes.
(6) Continue straight ahead uphill. Take a slight curve before reaching a wider track in a hairpin bend.
(7) Turn right onto this track to go around the mountain. Continue slightly uphill to reach the high point at the crossroads of a path.
(8) Leave the yellow-white markings here and take the grassy path running almost straight ahead to the right. Cross a section of ridge that is less wooded and more grassy. Descend to the large stony path coming from the left.
(9) Follow this main path for a few metres and then leave it to take the grassy path on the left. This well-marked path then curves to the right towards the east. Ignore a very steep path descending to the left. You will arrive at a crossroads on a flat area.
(10) Take the path that descends sharply to the left. You will reach the D236 road at Col du Faux.
(11) Be careful here: this road is busy. Take it to the right for about 100 metres to find the junction with the D532 in a hairpin bend.
(12) Turn right onto the D532 and follow it for a few hundred metres. Leave it and turn right onto an uphill path. After a slight right-hand bend, continue left onto a downhill path. This path leads to a main road. Take this main road to the right and then immediately left onto a descending path. Join the D532 again shortly before the Col du Marchand. Turn right onto this road and reach the pass.
(13) Here you will find the yellow-white markings again. Continue right on the D532 towards Saint-Félicien. Walk past a house on your right. Shortly after the house, take the path downhill to the right. Ignore the path leading left towards some houses and follow the downhill trail. This well-marked trail zigzags and then runs almost straight after crossing a wetland area to reach the hamlet of Les Granges.
(14) Pass close to the hamlet of Les Granges located below on the left. Continue straight ahead to reach a road. Follow this road to the right, ignoring two roads leading off to the right. Walk past two clusters of houses in Fontay on the left. You will arrive in front of some houses.
(15) Take the path that descends at a right angle to the right. Follow this paved path, which crosses a stream and reaches a road near a house. Continue along the road to the village of Pailharès and the post office building. Continue around the old village to return to the post office car park (S/E).
