Path of the Gods in Agerola

Legend has it that the Greek gods travelled this path to save Ulysses from the Sirens.
This is one of the most beautiful and legendary hikes on the Amalfi Coast. A true paradise with incredible views.
The hike is fairly easy, with just a few slippery rocks in places, so make sure you wear suitable footwear. It is not advisable to start the hike from the village of Nocelle, otherwise you will have to climb 1,900 steps right at the start.

Notes

Moderator's note: The elevation may be incorrect. Please leave your opinion to indicate the elevation given by your GPS if you do this hike.
The trail is well marked and suitable for families, except for pushchairs, of course. There are several places to stop for refreshments, including a kind of lodge, a small bar with a sea view, a refreshment bar with a cave, and a small square with a stand selling delicious granitas made with local lemons. There are also some downsides. I did this hike at the end of April and it was already crowded. I think it's best to avoid it in the summer.
Several water points, some free and some not:
(S) On the village square, there is a bar and bakery.
(5) Lodges and drinks.
(6) Drinking water tap and granita stand, toilets are available on the square.
Picnics are permitted.
Suitable footwear for hiking (slippery rocks).

Worth a visit

(S) There is a bus from Amalfi transport company SITA to Bomerano Line 5080, which I recommend as parking in the village seems complicated.
Other trails are available from the starting point (Agerola, Mont Calabrice).
(E) There is a bus stop on the right. Be careful on the road, as it is rather dangerous. The bus takes you to Sorrento, Positano or the stop opposite in Amalfi.
After (E) Visit the town of Positano.

A very easy route to follow, given the number of hikers who do it; I did it over a weekend in May (the long weekend of 8 May), and it was absolutely heaving. You can choose to take either the upper or lower path. Magnificent views.
For me, the difficulty of the trail lies in a few tricky sections (though manageable for 10-year-old walkers, contrary to some other comments) and, above all, the descent towards the end, which really takes it out of your knees.

A magnificent walk overlooking the sea as far as the eye can see. Really great. Perfect for families. It will certainly be busy during the high season, but if you plan your timing carefully, it should be fine.
Is there a way to get back by public transport? Perhaps arrange a car share with other hikers you meet along the way? There weren't enough people when we did the walk, but I could do it.

The trail is well marked.
The elevation gain indicated seems consistent given the number of ascents and descents along the route.
The only downside I would mention concerns the moderator's opinion. I don't know what "with the family" means, but personally, I wouldn't venture onto this trail with children, or at least not with children who aren't quite old enough. There are a few difficult sections (marked by warning signs) that run alongside some pretty steep drops. I have two young daughters aged 9 and 11 who are good walkers, but I wouldn't take them on this trail.

Not a very popular route in December, but now it's THE must-do hike in the region, with breathtaking views like no other. It's impossible to get lost, so it's fine for those who are afraid of heights (like me). As it was a bit complicated to leave the car in Positano (it's very difficult to park on the Amalfi Coast) and then take the bus to Agerola, we chose to park in Agerola (easy) and hike to Nocelle and back, which meant we avoided the steepest part. A must-do, even with children.
