Sandymount

Start: Take the gravel road to Sandimount car park.

(S/E) Leave the car park on the right-hand side towards the signpost. Shortly after, at the Y-junction, keep left and climb through a sandy path to reach a path junction.

(1) Turn left to reach Sandimount summit and its trig point. Wander around the summit to enjoy the different views. Then return to the small path junction.

(1) This time, turn left to continue around the summit and down through the sandy path to a junction.

(2) Turn left, still walking on the sandy path, then go through meadows with grazing sheep. Wooden signposts with an orange colour guide you along the way. Come to a gate.

(3) Cross it, go straight down hill, and go through a fence using the wooden steps to reach a magnificent viewpoint. Then cross again but this time bear right to follow the orange wayposts up the path (West). Go through a gate then keep right to go past a hut.

(4) Carry on the track past the gate, which leads back to the start and car park (S/E)

Start: Take the gravel road to Sandimount car park.

Terrain: Hiking poles are recommended as the path can be quite slippery as being a sandy path.

Don't forget to take a camera.
