Description of the walk

(S/E) Start at the car park in Salem (subject to a charge in summer). We turn right at the lake shore.

(1) From a viewing platform, we enjoy the view over Salem Lake.

(2) Shortly afterwards, we pass a playground and beach where you can swim in summer. We turn right at the next junction, then left and left again. We walk south on the Seekamp and cross the Schaalsee canal. Behind the last houses, we turn left.

(3) The trail leads through the forest back to the shore of Lake Salem. At the end of the path, we turn left. The hiking trail takes us along the edge of the Neukogeler Tannen. Take the next left. At the road, we turn left and cross the Schaalsee Canal again. Take the next left.

(4) You have reached the Pipersee and follow the hiking trail along the north shore.

(5) A bench with a beautiful view of the lake is a great place to take a break.

(6) Shortly afterwards, we reach a campsite on the Schaalsee Canal. At the log cabin, we turn left to take a look at the canal; alternatively, you can continue straight ahead. We are back at Lake Salem and follow the path along the shore back to the car park (S/E).
