In Charbonnières-les-Vieilles, north-west of Riom, on the D19. Starting point sign on the car park of the village hall, Rue de la Trinité.
(S/E) From the community centre, follow the road to the town centre and, opposite the church, take the lane on the left between the mission cross and the public weighbridge. Keep left and continue along the path to the water treatment plant. Turn right and, passing to the right of the small stone bridge, continue straight on to the road.
(1) Follow it to the left for 250 metres and, opposite the cross, go up the path on the left. Cross the hamlet of Les Desniers.
(2) At the crossroads, leave the road and take the first path on the right to rejoin a small road. Follow it to the left for a return trip (100 m) to the Moulin des Desniers (exhibition of miniature mill models).
(3) Retrace your steps and continue left along the stream. Follow the road, which forms a circular route.
(4) At the three-way junction, go up to the left and, after 150 m, take the first grassy path on the left. Go up until you reach a small road (50 m round trip to the left: cross, restored well and wash house, picnic table).
(5) Follow it to the right, cross the hamlet of Les Palles and descend to the mill (exhibition of old tools), then, after 200 m, leave the road and take a path on the left.
(6) At the T-junction, take the path on the left. In the bend, keep to the right. When you reach the ruins of the sawmill (flour mill and hemp mill), go up the path on the left and you will reach the ruins of a mill at the exit of the hamlet of Tazenat Bas.
(7) Just after the ruins, turn right onto a path that runs alongside a pond, then turn left to join and cross the D19. Follow this road to the left until you reach the end of a car park.
(8) Take the footpath that leads to the edge of the Gour de Tazenat (view of the gour site), turn left and continue to the small road at the corner of the woods.
(9) Go up to the right (high view of the gour). Continue along the road (view of the village of Charbonnières-les-Vieilles), which turns into a wide path until you reach a crossroads (signpost).
(10) Turn left towards Charbonnières. Continue along the tarmac path until you reach a crossroads.
(11) Take the path on the left. At the first houses, take the road on the right. Continue straight on until you reach the village hall (S/E).
