Take the N3 to the car park, which is situated at the junction with the Rivière Blanche, near the Arboretum.
(S/E) The start is on the left-hand side of the river. Climb a few steps and then begin the walk. Follow a path marked out by other regular walkers. You’ll reach the junction with the Ravine Sévère, which you’ll be following upstream. You’ll recognise it by the small pool where people often swim.
(1) From this point onwards, follow the stream as you head upstream: there’s no path, just the riverbed. You’ll come across small logs lying across the stream, plants tickling you all over, and tiny spiders with their webs strung across the river everywhere. Please remember to respect nature: don’t trample all the leaves in your path, and don’t break all the spider’s webs you come across. It’s up to us to adapt as much as possible to the natural environment here, so minimise your impact on the surroundings – nature will be all the more beautiful for it. You may spot some rarely seen species. Follow the stream upstream to a slight, barely visible junction between the left and right tributaries of the Ravine Sévère.
(2) Turn left and continue upstream until you reach the point where you can go no further: a small cliff face ahead of you, unspoilt wilderness and flowing water. Take a few moments to enjoy this rarely visited spot.
(3) Turn back and follow the ascent route in the opposite direction to the car park (S/E).
