Description of the walk

Start: Boerne refuge (Tré Le Champ)

(S) From the refuge, turn left onto the N506. Cross it to take the scenic views path heading South-West.
Unique views of the French side of the Mont Blanc massif.
Reach the crossroads of the path leading to the Bois de Plagnolet.

(1) Keep to the right of the Tour du Mont Blanc GR®, marked in Red and White. Pass the Aiguillette d'Argentière through the sparse woods. Climb a wide chimney and a succession of ledges equipped with ladders and handrails.

(2) Continue up to the Tête aux Vents junction. Magnificent view of the Mont Blanc and the Sea of Ice.

(3) Pass a cairn and continue upwards, overlooking the Cheserys lakes.

(4) Continue West to the Lac Blanc (laddered passages) and the eponymous refuge (E).

Reservations are essential as often fully booked.

In the morning, you can see the reflection of the Mont Blanc in the lake (like on postcards) and the ibex when the tourists have left.
