There is a small car park opposite the Prieuré de Saint-Jean de Garguier, at the entrance to the Saint-Clair housing estate (small roundabout).
(S/E) Head east and, facing the gate of villa no. 30, take the small path on the left that runs along the side of the hill, with a beautiful view of the priory and then the Château de Saint-Jean. When you reach the access road to the château, turn right onto the path that quickly leads under a pretty little aqueduct.
(1) Continue straight ahead on the path, which climbs very gradually up the Vallon des Seignors for about 3 km.
(2) Passing under a high-voltage power line, ignore the path to the left and continue up the valley. Throughout this section, the path follows a half-buried penstock. Pass the spring catchment (grate) and continue to the left, unless you want to take the shortcut that climbs up to the right. Further on, the path makes a hairpin bend to the right and climbs up the right side of the mountain until it passes at the foot of a large electricity pylon.
(3) Take the track that climbs quite steeply until you reach a rectangular green fire brigade tank.
(4) Enjoy the view. Take the track that descends southwards and follow it for about 1.5 km. At a hairpin bend, stop at the charming Tuny refuge on the left.
(5) Follow the track to quickly reach a three-way junction with a circular cistern in the centre.
(6) Turn left, then immediately right after the cistern and follow the path down into the Vallon Saint-Clair in the undergrowth. Walk for about 3 km, following the hollow of the valley and ignoring any paths branching off to the right or left.
After a beautiful arrival on a balcony above the valley, the path joins a small road at a bend. Follow this road to the left to return to the starting point (S/E).
