Access: Coming from the D104, formerly the RN Aubenas-Alès, take the D315 towards Labeaume. The hamlet of Chapias, on the plateau, is noticeable by its tower. Before the hamlet, after the mission cross, a large area on the left with rubbish containers offers plenty of parking spaces.
(S/E) From the car park, take the road towards the hamlet of Chapias (white and yellow signposts). In the hamlet (150 m from the start), a wooden sign on the right indicates "Rocher des Curés" (500 m round trip).
(1) After the chapel, leave the path indicated after about 50 metres and continue along the edge of the field towards some rocks with holes in them.
(2) The Rocher des Curés offers an opening towards a high point that could have been used as a pulpit for preaching. Return to the road and continue on the right.
(3) Pass in front of the Chapias Tower. After 100 metres, at a well, take the signposted road on the left. Continue along the Chemin de Chapias until you reach the road just before Linsolas. Follow the white and yellow markings on the left. After about 500 metres, when the road bends to the left, take the signposted path on the right.
(4) Cross the paved road and take the marked path opposite, to the left of a property gate. Continue to follow the markings, going straight ahead until you reach the paved road. Turn right towards Chamontin.
(5) At the flagpole, continue along the road following the signs, pass the cemetery, descend towards the church and then onto the square, before the submersible bridge over the Baume.
You will reach the hiking pole at the bridge at the entrance to the square after passing the "Faïsses" pole. A visit to the village is a must.
(6) At the flagpole, head towards Saint-Alban-Auriolles, cross the bridge over the Baume and continue up the path.
(7) At the mast, take the signposted path uphill to the right towards the Alphonse Daudet museum. There are chicanes at each end.
(8) At the junction with the road, turn left (the hiking pole is on the other side) towards Saint-Alban-Aurioles via the museum. Take Impasse des Fraysses on the right, then the marked path on the left in a right-hand bend.
Follow the marked trail, which is not shown on the IGN map (the one marked on the map is closed). When you reach the paved road, turn right.
Follow the road (Chemin de La Vignasse), passing in front of the museum. Continue along the road, following the signs. On the descent, take the road on the left, Chemin de Bousseyron. Pass in front of the church in Auriolles. Cross the D208 and take the road opposite (Chemin du Béal).
(9) At the mast, take the path on the left towards Ruoms. Follow the signposted path straight ahead through the vineyards and orchards for about 1.4 km. Leave the first path on the left and then turn left towards the D208. Join the departmental road.
(10) Turn right and continue along the road for about 900m. Cross the Baume on a narrow bridge, head towards the hamlet of Peyroche, then turn left and cross the hamlet.
(11) At the mast, head towards Labeaume on the left. Follow the marked trail.
(12) At the mast, continue straight ahead towards Chapias. Follow the signs to reach the D245. Take the departmental road on the right and after 150m, in the bend, take the path on the left.
At the end of the path, take the paved road on the left, which quickly becomes a path leading to the dolmens.
At the information board for the "Ranc de Figère" site, leave the path to discover two dolmens that are impressive in size (ranc = rock in Occitan).
Return to the path and, at the bend to the right, take the path on the left (signposted).
Continue along the white-and-yellow marked path through the heath. You will cross several paths, but the markings are clearly visible and you should always go straight ahead.
(13) At the mast, continue straight ahead towards Rosières, Chapias. Continue to follow the signs. After 350 metres, cross another track, go straight ahead slightly uphill and continue to the D315 (Croix de Cavagnac on your left)
(14) At the cross, turn right onto the departmental road. A pyramid made of stones from the ground is a reminder of the cleaning work carried out by local residents to cultivate strips of land (faisses). Continue along the road
(15) At the flagpole (mission cross nearby), take the road on the left to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
