Park in a small gravel car park on the edge of Chemin de la Pierre Bleue in Castries. To be sure of the parking location, there is a large flat rock in front of one of the paths and, a little further on, an old disused tennis court.
(S/E) From the car park, head north-west on the small path with a large wooden stake planted in the middle of the start (the middle path). After about 200 metres, turn right onto the larger path and continue for about 50 metres
(1) Then follow the path that goes up to the left. At the next two junctions, turn left onto the path that continues to climb. Continue along the main path for 250 metres until you reach a crossroads, then turn left again onto the path that goes downhill. After 200 metres, you will arrive at the aqueduct.
(2) Pass under the aqueduct and turn left towards the south-west, with the arches on your left. Walk along a vineyard and, once you reach the end, take the small path that descends opposite on the right towards the north. This is the small path after the one that returns to the vineyard. Continue along the larger path for 200 metres and, at the intersection, take the path that continues straight ahead to the right for another 250 metres.
(3) Look for and take a small path that branches off to the left towards an old stone building: La Capelette. Then continue along the small path to the left and, at the next junction, turn right. Continue along the path for 300 metres until you reach a larger path, which you should follow by turning left.
(4) At the next two crossroads, turn right. The next section is the main road that goes up the hill.
Take this path uphill and, halfway up, take the time to turn around. You should see the main buildings of Castries. Go to the top and, after a short descent, take the small path on the right that runs along the vineyard and the hill towards the east. Walk for about 350 m and then, at the small intersection of three paths, turn right to go back up the hill. You will then descend for 100 m to the next junction.
(5) Going downhill, turn left at the first small intersection: you have just arrived at the land section of the aqueduct. Follow the carved stone blocks for 1 km, continuing straight ahead at each intersection until you return to the arches of the aqueduct. NB. Do not walk on the stone blocks, as they are fragile. After 1 km, walk back down along the arches of the aqueduct via the path on the left until you reach the main path you took earlier.
(2) When you reach the bottom, stay on the same side of the aqueduct, then look for and take a small path heading south (there are cypress trees, and the small path branches off to their right). Continue straight ahead until you reach a larger carriage road. Go up to the right for about 50 metres and take a small path that branches off to the left into the forest. It then joins the main road. When you leave the forest, turn right and walk about 30 metres to the crossroads.
(6) Turn left (do not go towards the houses at the end on the right). Follow the main road for another 250 metres and, after passing a large fenced property on your right, continue for another 130 metres or so after the end of the fence. At a slight bend in the road on the right, turn right at an angle of about 45° onto a small path that leads directly back to the car park where you started. To be sure of the way back, there is a large rock in the middle of the path at its starting point. Then follow the larger path to the car park (S/E).
