Description of the walk

Parking is available below the Church of Saint Nicholas in the village of Feliceto, accessible from the D71 (on the right coming from Muro).

(S/E) From the platform where the Church of Saint Nicholas is located (or from the car park just below on the side of the building), take the road that goes downhill (in front of the church). Continue down a fairly steep descent. Follow this shaded road to the end and you will reach the water treatment plant.

(1) Just above the water treatment plant (there is also a small chapel - Son Rocca). Take the small path on the left and follow it for about 150 metres.

(2) Turn left again and, after about 20 metres, cross a small stream (Fiume di Regino), then follow the mule track above it. Just after a few restored houses, you will come to a T-junction.

(3) Turn left. After about 250 m, you will reach a beautifully preserved Genoese bridge on your right: a lovely spot to stop and swim just after the bridge (the pool is quite deep and may be quite busy).

(4) Retrace your steps to the previous T-junction.

(3) Continue straight ahead and cross the stream. Follow the path that climbs gently towards the village. Follow this path, leaving the path that joins the D71 on your left (at the small hamlet of Pieve). You will arrive at the second Genoese bridge of the walk, located just above the water treatment plant

(5) Continue for a few metres to reach the intersection of the loop.

(1) Take the road on the left that takes you back to the village and the car park (S/E).

Notes

The village of Feliceto has several bars and restaurants; there are no water points along this walk; trainers are sufficient footwear.

Much of the route is shaded.

Worth a visit

Swimming is possible at the first Genoese bridge. Part of the route is still used for farming (livestock and olive trees), and at the end of the trail you can see how much development has taken place over the centuries and how intense the farming activity was.

A short, easy walk with plenty of shade.
