The hike starts from the hamlet of Mézeilles (commune of Vieussan). When arriving from Vieussan, drive through the hamlet and park in a small dirt car park just outside the village on your left (on your right before the hamlet if arriving from Berlou).
(S/E) From the car park, cross the tarmac road and take the concrete road opposite, which leads to the hamlet.
At the first intersection, turn left onto the stone steps. In the village, keep turning left. About a hundred metres after leaving the village, ignore the path that branches off to the left and continue straight ahead.
(1) At the fork (not shown on the IGN map), continue on the main path that climbs to the left in a north-westerly direction.
(2) After crossing the last "wall", when you come to another path, turn left and go uphill. The path becomes flatter. On your way, ignore a small path that goes up to the right.
(3) When you reach the crossroads of several paths on the plateau, take the second one on the right, just before the cistern (the one that is accessible to vehicles).
(4) At the hairpin bend to the right, stop to admire the view of Caroux from the viewpoint among the pine trees on the left. Return to the path and continue climbing (still on the path accessible by car).
(5) When the path splits in two, take the left fork for a round trip to the "Tour de guet" (watchtower) to climb to the top of Naudech and admire the view. Return to the crossroads.
(5) This time, take the path that descends sharply to the left to the second antenna, which allows you to see the village of Vieussan in the circular Orb below.
(6) Retrace your steps for about ten metres and take the path that descends to your left. You will soon find yourself under the electricity pylons and begin a steep descent for a few metres before entering the oak trees on your left and crossing the descent from the pylons. At the crossroads (located about thirty metres from an intersection you passed on the way up), turn left downhill.
(7) After a few bends, turn left again at the crossroads. After a few minutes, you will arrive at a recent construction in the middle of nowhere. Just after passing this house, the path descends to the right: cross the path leading to the house to go opposite and continue downhill. You will then come out onto the D177 tarmac road after walking alongside the vineyard on your left
(8). Cross the road to reach the dirt track opposite and immediately turn right onto the path that runs along the bottom of the road.
(9) At the fork (not shown on the IGN map), take the path on the right that runs along the rock face. Cross the orchards and vegetable gardens, go over the stone bridge (turn right immediately after) and start the climb back up to Mézeilles along the path. At the top of the path, turn left onto the tarmac road to cross the hamlet and return to your vehicle (S/E).
