To get to the starting point, take the D14 from Bonloc towards Saint-Esteben. After 2 km, take a small road on the right, Fermineneko Bidea. At the next bend, turn right then left and continue to a fork. Turn left downhill and reach the next farm, near the starting point (Pic de Garralda sign). Park at the side of the road, which is easy to do, to start your walk.
(S/E) Turn right and climb for about 350 m to reach a crossroads.
(1) Turn left to climb towards the peak. Continue straight ahead at the fork at the corner of a cluster of trees, then leave a path on the left a few metres further on. Pass by the Fermineneko Borda building and continue straight ahead until you reach a four-way crossroads.
(2) Turn right through the firebreak. This means you will be going in a circular route, but the climb will be gentler and you will have the pleasure of passing a pretty sheepfold. At the next crossroads, at the edge of the forest, turn left to climb uphill. You will reach a crossroads; turn left and continue for a few dozen metres.
(3) Don't miss the path that climbs up to the right through the fern forest towards the visible peak. Reach the first peak, then the second.
(4) Take the time to admire the landscape, then continue south. About twenty metres further on, turn sharply right to descend steeply. Then turn left with the trail, then right, and you will come out onto a wide dirt track.
(5) Turn left to continue downhill and reach a tarmac road.
(6) Continue straight ahead, then turn right onto the road that runs alongside several scattered houses. At Leixorrenea, keep to the right and continue along the very quiet road that leads back to the starting point (S/E).
