Description of the walk

(S) Set off from Oliferne Castle heading north to reach the “Au-dessus des Puits” junction. Continue to the left, then left again 400 m further along the PR®, heading south-west. After a more or less straight 2.8 km descent, you’ll reach the junction with the D109 at the hamlet of Les Fours à Chaux in the commune of Coisia.

(1) First turn right then left and follow the signs for Turgon. Stay on this path for 2.5 km until you reach the Grange de l’Étang.

(2) Walk past the small pond and carry on straight ahead along the stony path to the Mollards neighbourhood. Continue in the same direction, passing the cemetery, until you reach the junction with the Route de Thoirette (Grande Rue) by the fountain.

(3) Turn right, leave the village of Thoirette, then carry on in the same direction, taking care as you walk alongside the D936. Pass through the hamlet of La Source to enter the department of Ain, then the hamlet of Conflans.

(4) As you leave the hamlet, take the small road on the right and carry on until you reach the junction with the D59. At this point, first turn right then left to join a steeply ascending path opposite. Carry on to the viewpoint overlooking Lac de Conflans.

(5) Continue to the right along the road, then turn left onto the first path marked in yellow to join the GRP® Tour du Revermont variant. Carry on to Saint-Maurice d’Échazeaux.

(6) Turn left onto the GR®. The path makes a wide circular loop to the right, then heads south-west.

(7) Carry on straight ahead, keeping slightly to the right, to reach the village of Corveissiat at the church and cemetery.

(8) Once you have passed these, turn left onto Rue de la Fruitière. At the junction with the D59b (Grande Rue), turn left then right onto Rue Sur la Roche and carry on to the end.

(9) Cross the D936 with care and continue along Chemin de Chatillon. Pass the Pôle d’Activités des Murets and head south-south-west, following the GR® markings.

(10) At the junction with the D59b, turn left onto the road, then immediately right onto the small grassy path which initially runs alongside it before veering off to the right. Keep right at the next fork and carry on until you reach the three-way junction (cross).

(11) Head straight on, keeping slightly to the left, heading west, to reach the hamlet of Racouse 2.7 km further on. Walk past the farm.

(12) Just after the farm, turn left. Walk past the old wash house and then carry on straight ahead towards the south-west to reach Grand Corent.

(13) Walk past the town hall, go straight on to the three-way junction, then turn immediately right onto Chemin du Lavoir to find your campsite on the right (E).
