By car, at the top of Cours Grandval, head towards the Napoleon cave. Take the hairpin bend to the right and continue straight ahead. The small Bois des Anglais car park is on the left uphill. Bus line 7 from the town centre (including the Cathedral and Prefecture) stops at Bois des Anglais right next door.
(S/E) From the start, the trail is marked "sentier des crêtes" (ridge trail) or with fairly old orange markings. Follow these.
(1) At the first hairpin bend, turn right. The trail climbs steadily, winding its way through the shade, and reaches a small viewpoint with a stone bench and a beautiful panorama.
(2) Continue along the trail.
(3) At the top of a steep, rugged climb, take the path on the left without following the "sentier des crêtes" sign. Pass the ruins of a house and its stone terraces: you are now halfway there. Continue to the Col du Forcone.
(4) Keep to the left and descend towards Ajaccio, leaving the path leading to Monte Cacalò on your right. Come out onto Chemin du Cacalovo and continue straight on to Boulevard Albert1er.
(5) Turn left, then left again onto Boulevard Madame Mère. Continue straight ahead until you reach the junction with Avenue Nicolas Pietri and keep left to follow it. Turn left one last time at number 8 to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
