Description of the walk

Park in the town hall square.

(S/E) Follow the main road, passing the war memorial on your right, then take the second road on the right and walk past the church.

(1) Turn left into Rue Jeanne d’Arc. Continue straight on until you reach the Porte des Anglais. Take a look at the old houses, some dating back to the 13th century, and the statue of Joan of Arc above the Porte des Anglais. Go through the gate and turn right.

(2) Turn onto the path on the left and, once you reach the rampart walk, turn left. Follow the rampart walk as it circles the village. Take the hairpin bend onto the first road on the right, then turn left to rejoin the main road (D133). Enjoy the view of the village.

(3) Head right (watch out for traffic) then take the first right (follow theGR®). Follow this side road until you reach a path on the right and follow it (leave theGR®). Continue straight on along this path, which narrows (enjoy the view of Saint-Pastour). When you reach a road, cross it and take the road opposite which leads uphill. Pass several buildings.

(4) Turn right onto a track and follow it until you reach a road. Follow the road to the right, downhill, until you reach a junction. Cross the D173, continue along the road opposite and follow it for several hundred metres through Pressoire. Continue until you reach the entrance to the hamlet of Lasserre.

(5) Head slightly to the right and turn right onto a path. Cross a stream, then follow the path to the right (GR® signposting). At the end of the path, turn left towards Couret.

(6) Take a path on the right which leads to the rampart walk. Turn left (end ofGR® markings). The rampart walk leads to the town hall square (S/E).

A wonderful discovery, a pretty country house, magnificent landscapes, a walk in the heart of nature... However, at this time of year and with the recent rain, some paths are difficult to walk on.

A lovely, easy route that will allow you to explore the surrounding countryside and a truly surprising village. The signposting (red/white and blue) is excellent – you simply can’t go wrong. However, I’d advise against doing this route in very hot weather as there’s very little shade. I bumped into some locals who seem to enjoy a chat, so do feel free to have a go – it’s a really rewarding experience.
