Departure from Place de la Pousterle. Park in the car park along Cours Stassart, near the junction with Chemin Neuf. If there are no spaces available, other car parks are available near the departure point: Place Bellevue, Place de Hiély, Place de la Mairie, etc.
The route is marked with numbered arrows in the shape of vine leaves, which are referred to in the description, and information panels.
(S/E) Follow Cours Statssart northwards, passing Chemin Neuf and Rue Carrière Vitrée on your right. Take the next right, Chemin des Fontaines (arrows 2 and 3). At arrow 4, continue along Chemin du Tombadou until you reach arrow 5.
(1) Leave the paved road and take the dirt road on your left. Pass arrows 6 and 7 and reach an intersection before the D7, at a place called La Curnière (arrow 8).
(2) Take a path on the left and pass arrows 9 to 11. Leave the buildings on your right, ignore a turn-off on the right and immediately join a junction with a paved road (Chemin des Abreuvoirs; arrow 12). Follow the small road to the right. Cross another small road on the right (fountain) and quickly reach a crossroads (arrow no. 14).
(3) There are two options here:
- To shorten the hike, go straight ahead and immediately join the next intersection (6).
- Otherwise, as shown on the map, turn right onto Chemin de la Ponche. Walk through the vineyards, turning right, then left, until you reach a T-junction at La Ponche (arrow no. 16).
(4) Turn left onto a wide path. When it turns right after about 50 metres, continue straight ahead on a vineyard path. At the end (arrow no. 17), turn left and then right. Continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads in the middle of the vineyards (arrow no. 19).
(5) Then turn left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the paved road (arrow no. 20).
(6) Follow the road to the right. Ignore the first path on the left (elevation 118) and continue to the next intersection with a path (arrow no. 22).
(7) Turn left and head south-west through the vineyards. At arrow no. 26, take a path on the right that descends steeply. You will arrive at a small road (arrow no. 27).
(8) Follow the road to the left. When it turns sharply to the left (arrow no. 28), take a dirt track that branches off to the right. Ignore two paths on the right, pass the foot of an old papal boundary stone and continue to the hamlet of Fontbonne (arrow no. 31).
(9) There are two options here:
- To shorten the hike, go straight ahead on a small road until the next intersection (10).
- Otherwise, as shown on the map, turn right at an acute angle to leave the hamlet. At arrow no. 34, turn left onto a paved road. At the next intersection (arrow no. 35), turn left. Ignore another small road on the right and continue to an intersection (arrow no. 37).
(10) Turn right (southeast). At the crossroads (elevation 116), go straight ahead, pass an information board (arrow no. 39), and descend to an intersection before a house (arrow no. 40).
(11) Turn right, follow a vineyard and pass arrow no. 41. At arrow no. 42, take the small descent to access the vineyard below. Continue to a small road (arrow no. 45).
(12) Follow the road to the left (Chemin du Moulin). Cross a stream and go slightly uphill until you reach arrow no. 46.
(13) Take a path on the right and follow it to arrow no. 49. Climb up through a grove and join a stone staircase (arrows no. 50 and no. 51). Then walk along the vineyards until you reach arrow no. 52. Turn first right then left at arrows no. 53 and no. 54. At arrow no. 55, turn left and join the Chemin goudronné de la Blouvarde (arrow no. 57).
(14) Follow the path to the left until you reach a crossroads (arrow no. 58).
(15) Turn left onto Chemin des Lèques. Head up towards the village and pass arrow no. 59. Cross Montée de Bellevue on the left, then Chemin du Colombier on the right. You will then return to Place de Pousterle (S/E).
