Description of the walk

Start:___Parking: Park south of Mancha Blanc, on the roadside (Lugar Tinguaton. LZ-56), in the car park on the outskirts of La Montaña Negra (Municipio de Tinajo).

(S/E) Back from the car park, take the road to the right and walk along it for 50 m, crossing with caution (traffic is often heavy) and taking the path heading South-East up the hill, until you come to a white hut.

(1) Continue to the right, up the hillside, following a small path through lava dust, and climb for about 500 m, until you reach a rockier section.

(2) Turn left and climb to the summit, still following this small path, up to the ridge.

(3) Turn left again and quickly reach the summit.

(4) Enjoy the magnificent view (beware, there are often strong gusts of wind) and take the left-hand path for a few meters.

(5) Turn right and continue downhill, zigzagging a little, then attack the descent slightly to the left, through lava dust, to the white hut.

(1) Rejoin the road and the car park (S/E).

Hiking is prohibited at the summit; walk around it instead. The same applies to the nearby Caldera Colarada. Both of these walks can be done from nearby starting points and are suitable for children (very easy).
The Volcán del Cuervos route is also nearby. The Visorando route is good: you don’t climb the volcano either (access is to the interior only).
