Mount Forato
Monte Forato, or "pierced mountain" in English, is a curiosity of the Apuan Alps that attracts many hikers. Monte Forato consists of two peaks of equal height, connected by a natural arch. The circular hole is 12 metres high, and the arch itself is about 8 metres thick. This circular hike will allow you to discover the beauty of this massif in the Apuan Alps, as well as neighbouring peaks such as Procinto, Monte Nona, Piana della Croce and Omo Morto.
The Cinque Terre - from Porto Venere to Riomaggiore
A very beautiful stage, more challenging and less crowded at the entrance to the Cinque Terre, with beautiful views of the sea.
Santuario di Nostra Signora di Montenero to Monte Della Madonna
This route takes you from Santuario di Nostra Signora di Montenero to Monte Della Madonna, over Monte Dei Fraschi, and back towards the road via Toretto. I stopped at Monte Della Madonna for a well deserved lunch break.
From Riomaggore to Manarola
A surprising hike that avoids the Azzuro trail, which is currently closed between these two villages. Very strenuous, as it goes from a steep climb to a dizzying descent. If you're afraid of stairs, don't attempt it!
Manarola discovery circular
The essentials of Manarola, with a circular that overlooks the most beautiful of the Cinque Terre villages. Breathtaking views of the village and the harbour await you, as do the most traditional images of the narrow streets.
From Manarola to Riomaggiore via the inland route
Access to Riomaggiore is via inland and less frequented paths. Depart from the church in Manarola and arrive at the castle in Riomaggiore by following marked paths through vineyards and groves.
In Cinque Terre: from Corniglia to Vernazza
This trail offers spectacular views of Corniglia and Vernazza, as well as San Bernardino at the top of the hill.
If you decide to take this trail, you are guaranteed picturesque views. You will pass through olive groves, vineyards and Mediterranean scrub. There is a panoramic viewpoint over the famous village and its medieval tower from the trail near Vernazza.
Moderator's note : paid hike, see reviews.
From Corniglia to Riomaggiore via Manarola in the Cinque Terre
Enjoy the best views of the Cinque Terre villages from the hiking trails.
Between the sea and the mountains, in the heart of the vineyards, the beauty of these landscapes is well worth the effort.
Lago Santo
A beautiful hike. The relatively steep climb is rewarded with a view of this lake.
Note: if you want to hike all the way around the lake (to the left), you will have to cross a scree slope. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can hike to the right to the mountain hut.
