Behind the church in Marcilly sur Eure, go to the 80-space car park via Allée des Tilleuls, heading towards the library (sign).
(S/E) From there, continue to the greenway (cycle path) 300 metres away, which you take to the right until you reach the Route d'Ezy (500 metres). Take this road to the left until you reach the "Fin de Marcilly" sign.
(1) Take a path on the left that crosses fields to the forest (north-northwest direction). From the path to the forest = 900 m. Continue along this path, keeping left at a fork.
(2) At the top of this climb in the forest, continue on the path to the left. At another intersection further up, take the small path on the left (marked with a blue mark on a tree) then left again on thefirst path to reach the edge of the forest with a view of a pale green water tower opposite (1.2 km as the crow flies).
(3) Continue along this path (south-west) along the edge of the forest towards the water tower until you reach the road (D52), which you cross, continuing straight ahead to reach the water tower 200 m further on.
(4) From the water tower, take a path closed off by a barrier prohibiting vehicles on the left.
Further on, take a narrow path on the left along a wire fence, then climb up to a road (D558). Continue straight ahead, passing in front of the 'lodge' and La Fougeraie at the entrance to the path that descends into the forest.
Continue straight ahead as you leave the forest, crossing a field towards a bridge (old railway line). Follow this path under the bridge until you reach the road (D45), which you take to the right to arrive at "Le Val Léger" (sign).
(5) Cross the village, staying on this road (Rue d'Illiers), and take a hairpin bend to the left at the village exit near a small pond.
After about 400 metres, take the path on the left (heading east), then left again after 150 metres and continue for about 400 metres.
(6) Take the left-hand path (northbound) to descend into the forest. On the descent, at another fork where you will see a blue arrow on a tree, take the right-hand path and continue to a new bridge on the old railway line.
(7) Take a small path on the right immediately after the bridge, follow this path for 250 metres, then turn left and continue on a very narrow path that descends along a fence to the Marcilly road.
(8) Take this road to the right for 230 metres and turn left onto the greenway 300 metres further on.
(9) Take the greenway on the left to cross two roads, the D45 and the D52. Continue for another 300m, turn right near a tennis court and return to the car park (S/E).
