Park in the memorial car park.
(S/E) Walk past the D-Day barge and head towards Île d’Or, which can be seen in the distance. At the end of the ‘memorial’ area, take the path down towards Dramont beach. From there, walk as close as possible to the coastline until you reach the harbour, which you will go round.
(1) Ignore the coastal path and walk along the coast, passing over the reddish rocks, which offer a striking contrast to the blue waters of the Mediterranean.
(2) Turn left at the large boulder, then turn right at the first path junction. Continue to the track.
(3) Turn right and then immediately right again. The descending staircase is marked with a Yellow Cross. At the bottom of this long staircase, head left, following the reddish cliffs. Several faint paths lead up into the wooded hillside.
(4) Head slightly to the right. Follow the coastline, staying as close to it as possible.
(5) At this junction, continue to the right, towards the sea. Follow the main path.
(6) Turn right; the path runs below the semaphore, which serves primarily as a French Navy lookout post. Follow it to the next path junction.
(7) Turn right, leave the wooded area, and head back towards the coast.
Yellow markings
(8) Walk along Camp Long beach, then follow the coastline past the red rocks. Numerous flowers, including sea holly, adorn the route. Stairs, paths and beaches form the coastline that you will follow to the end of Pourrousset beach.
(9) Cross the road with care. Take the steps leading up towards the Cap Estérel holiday village, then follow the road along the pavement. At the entrance to the residential complex, at the roundabout, take the road on the right which leads to a car park.
(10) Leave the road, open the gate and take the Promenade path which crosses a wood. Cross a wooden bridge. Continue to a large crossroads of paths
End of yellow markings
(11) Turn left. Stay on the main path which winds through woodland to the Cap Esterel road.
(12) Turn left, then, after about 50 metres, turn right onto a wide path that winds its way uphill.
(13) Continue straight ahead, passing the “Belvédère de l’Estérel” sign, and begin the descent. Continue to the “Col de Gardevielle” sign.
(14) Turn left. There are numerous views of the quarry lakes, Île d’Or and the Sémaphore. Below the path, follow the first lake along a wide track suitable for vehicles, called “Chemin des Sangliers”, running alongside the railway line. Just past the station (which is on the right), take the path down to the left. Head towards the second lake. Below this path, a tunnel connects this lake to the memorial, passing under the railway line and beneath the "Boulevard de la Division du Texas" (S/E.
