There are two free car parks at Argelès Town Hall. The one opposite the town hall has two charging points for electric cars.

(S/E) From the large car park, turn right onto Allée Ferdinand Buisson, passing in front of the town hall. You’ll come to a small roundabout. Carry on straight ahead under the Massane bridge, wading across this river, which is often dry. Continue, with the Massane on your right, along Avenue du 11 Novembre 1918.
(1) At the EV8 sign, carry on straight ahead, still following the river. You’ll pass the fire station on your right.
(2) Turn right onto Route de Sorède (D 2). Cross the Massane via a road bridge. Carry on uphill, cross the dual carriageway via a road bridge and reach a roundabout.
(3) Continue straight ahead towards Sorède. Enter Sorède and join Rue du Pont. Cross the River Tassio via a road bridge.
(4) Turn right towards Laroque and continue to a roundabout.
(5) Turn sharply left towards Laroque via Rue de la Vendée.
(6) Continue along Route de Laroque. Enter Laroque des Albères via Avenue de la Côte Vermeille and go straight on at the roundabout.
(7) Leave Avenue de la Côte Vermeille and enter the village centre via Rue Louis et Michel Soler. Pass the shops and the post office. At the end, turn right towards Saint-Génis and Villelongue via Avenue du Roussillon. Cross the Ribera de la Roca via a road bridge and continue for 100 metres.
(8) Turn left towards Villelongue dels-Monts via Avenue du Vallespir (D 11). Carry on to Villelongue. First turn right then left, passing the sign for Saint-Génist. Continue along the D 11.
(9) Carry on towards Montesquieu, still on the D 11. This road climbs until it reaches the entrance to the village of Montesquieu (Grand Rue).
(10) It is forbidden to turn left and drive against the flow of traffic. Two new road signs have been erected.
You must bypass the village on the right: head down the Chemin du Roi. At the Stop sign, turn left onto this same road, which climbs slightly.
Join Avenue Lucien Galy, then follow it down to the right, passing the cemetery, until you reach a roundabout and the end of the D11.
(11) Do not follow the signs for Le Boulou. Continue straight ahead, taking the second right (Rue Longue). Caution: long descent.
You’ll come to a junction that’s hard to spot, almost at the bottom of the descent.
(12) Turn right, following the EV8 cycle route signs (Piémont des Albères), towards Argelès-sur-Mer via Rue de la Plansounade. Caution: this narrow road, with very little motor traffic, is shared with other road users. You’ll reach a road junction. No further directions are signposted… End of the EV8…
(13) At the Stop sign, turn left onto the Cami de Matemala and continue until you reach another junction which meets the Argelès–Le Boulou cycle path.
(14) Turn right and you’ll come to a double roundabout beneath this dedicated cycle route.
(15) Turn left and carefully navigate the two roundabouts beneath the dedicated carriageway.
(16) Turn right towards Argelès-sur-Mer via the EV8 (direct route). You’ll reach the large ‘Saint-André roundabout’ opposite the car-sharing area.
(17) Take care. Turn left, staying on the EV8. Go over the railway line.
(18) Turn right immediately to follow the road alongside it. Pass under the dual carriageway and then join the large roundabout in the Argelès industrial estate.
(19) Take extreme care! This is a very dangerous spot for cyclists and pedestrians...
Turn right, taking care of vehicles coming from the right from Saint-André. Immediately afterwards, head right through a designated passage in the low concrete wall, which will protect you from oncoming traffic on the left-hand side. After 150 m, first turn right then left into Impasse des Sarcelles. Continue for a further 100 m and you’ll find Rue des Colibris on the left (be careful not to miss the turn-off).
(20) Turn onto this street, then continue straight on along Rue des Merles and cross the Massane ford to reach the junction from the outward leg.
(1) Turn left, continuing to follow the EV8 markings alongside Avenue du 11 Novembre 1918. Cross the Massane again via the other ford you passed on the outward journey and head for the town hall car park (S/E).
