(S/E) Start at the Pointe de Pen Hir car park, heading north towards a memorial to Breton soldiers of the Second World War. At the memorial, turn right and continue along the coast, following the red and white markings ofthe GR®®34.
(1) Pass a number of blockhouses, then you’ll reach Anse de Pen Hat.
(2) Walk along the sandy beach (beware of quicksand on this beach; swimming is prohibited) and at the end of it, climb the fairly steep path to reach the French naval fort.
(3) Walk along the surrounding wall and join the road on the right. Continue along the road eastwards for 100 m, then turn left across the meadows to the riverbank.
(4) Continue towards Pointe du Grand Gouin. At this headland, continue along the coast towards the south.
(5) After 300 m, leave the coastal path and turn right onto the path leading uphill. At the second fork, turn left onto a path marked in black. You will then pass through residential areas and, after an S-bend, reach the main road.
(6) Turn left, then immediately right at the next junction onto Rue Saint-Rioc and
you will soon reach the Lagatjar Alignments.
(7) Then turn left into Rue Georges Ancey; the 143 menhirs are on your right. You will then reach the D8A, which you cross to take the street opposite.
(8) Cross the D8 and head straight on down the street towards Kermeur.
(9) On leaving the hamlet, turn slightly left towards Veyrac’h Beach.
(10) Once at the car park for this beach, turn right onto the red and white marked coastal path and follow it to Pointe de Pen Hir, where you will see the Tas de Pois. Return to the starting car park by turning right (S/E).
