Start at Place du Canal in Luzech.
(S/E) Cross the bridge towards Albas. Then take the road on the left towards Sauzet.
(1) At the crossroads, take the small road on the left. After a few metres, go up the road on the right and pass the sign for "Le balcon de Luzech". After crossing the housing estate, you will come to a track that climbs steadily up the hillside, offering beautiful views of the village of Luzech at first, and then the Lot and the Ile plain. You will come out onto the road (D137).
(2) At the intersection, take the track opposite that runs between the two roads to reach another crossroads.
(3) Turn right to cross the hamlet of Pélis. Follow the road until you reach a track.
(4) Take it on the left. It climbs for a few metres before gradually descending the Payrols valley. Leave the path to the left that leads to the Souleillat wash house and continue along the track that descends to the right.
(5) Leave the track temporarily on the right to come out onto a clearing along which the Payrols stream flows. At the end of the clearing is a series of small waterfalls (outside the dry season) which you can walk up.
Back on the track, continue to the right to continue the descent.
(6) Pass the old manganese mine and arrive at a small car park, where you take a small, very discreet path on the right (not shown on the IGN map). Carefully follow this small trail (GPS tracking will help you) until you come out in a vineyard on the Crespiat plateau, which you cross to reach a road.
(7) Follow the road to the right.
(8) At the crossroads, go around the rubbish bins and continue straight ahead over a small embankment behind which lies the path for your final descent
. Ignore a path on the right and continue to a fork.
(9) Take the path on the left that descends into the Combe de Roubignol, leaving the track that climbs up opposite. Gradually descend the combe to reach the road and return to the D137, not far from the crossroads you took on the way there.
(1) Turn left to return to Luzech and the car park where you started (S/E).
