From the centre of the village of Argelès-sur-Mer, follow the road signs for the Maison de Retraite. When you reach the Auberge du Roua, you will easily find parking along the road parallel to the dual carriageway.
Please do not park in the Auberge du Roua car park, but outside, along the dual carriageway.
(S/E) With your back to the main road, take Chemin du Roua, passing in front of the Auberge du Roua, and follow this tarmac road for 1.2 km until you reach the end.
(1) At the end of the tarmac section, take the single track through a beautiful forest of cork oaks. Quickly, at thefirst intersection, turn right, then left at thesecond. When you leave the forest, at the barrier, go straight on the DFCI AL 29 towards the Notre-Dame de Vie Chapel. Join a road and follow the signs for the chapel, ending up climbing its beautiful steps.

You can take a tour with magnificent views of Canigou, the Roussillon plain, the sea and Argelès. Continue along the path that climbs up to the viewpoint overlooking the chapel.
(2) Facing the bench and the landscape, take the wide stony path behind you, which climbs steeply for 400 metres and ends at a wide DFCI track.
(3) At the end of the path, there is a superb panorama of Argelès, the port, Château Valmy and the sea stretching as far as the eye can see. Take the wide track on the left and continue downhill to the left on the DFCI AL28 for 1.9 km. Pass under the high-voltage line and join two sharp bends in the track.
(4) The main track branches off to the left at the second bend. Continue straight ahead on the steep, stony track that runs alongside the high-voltage power line.
You will arrive at a crossroads, at the ruins of Mas d'en Pardès, well hidden in the vegetation on your left.
(5) Take thesecond single track on the right signposted Chapelle Saint-Laurent.
Please note: do not take thefirst path on the right under the power line, which is the most open and would take you to the Tour de la Massane.
Enjoy a beautiful walk through the forest with its magnificent cork oaks, a few sections of easy rock climbing and superb views.
(6) When you leave the forest, you will find a wide track leading down to the Chapelle Saint-Laurent on the left.
Visit the chapel and its pastoral hut at the rear of the chapel (100 m round trip following the cairns).
With your back to the chapel entrance, take the single track that descends straight down towards Château Valmy, Argelès-sur-Mer.
(7) At the end of the single track, turn left onto the wide track towards Château Valmy, Argelès-sur-Mer. Stay on this track for 0.8 km.
(8) At this intersection, leave the Valmy track and turn left towards Chapelle Saint-Laurent on the AL 28. "We're not going back there, we'll just pass underneath it"!
At the next two intersections, continue downhill on the AL38 for 1 km. Go through a sharp right-hand bend.
(9) The main track continues downhill to the right. At this intersection, take the hairpin bend to the left, under the AL29 DFCI barrier. Continue for 400 m to the next barrier. You will arrive at Chemin du Mas Cassou. Turn right onto this very quiet tarmac road until you reach the dual carriageway.
(10) Turn left onto this road and continue for about 250 metres along the grass verge until you reach a tunnel on the right under the dual carriageway.
(11) Turn left and follow Route de N-D de Vie for about 150 metres until you reach a junction at a road bridge. Continue straight ahead, following the road (Chemin des Vignes) until you reach a ford.
(10) At the letterboxes, look for a track on the right and follow it. It goes around the left side of an area with horses. You will arrive in the middle of the vineyards, just opposite the Auberge du Roua. Continue to the right along the vineyards and return to your parking area (S/E).
